Although it is the first book in the old testament, genesis is not Hebrew but Greek; meaning "generations or creation." Current usage implies "beginnings." This is the first design developed and is still one of the most popular. This edition of Genesis is made of mahogany. At first the wood appears plain but placed in good light the block mottle figure "lights up and fades" as you move around the box. It is trimmed with gaboon ebony. The interior is vibrant curly maple. the half tray inside is curly maple as well.
